The brand new course is recommended for gang investigators, correctional staff, parole agents, detectives, patrol and other law enforcement officials.
A common fallacy is that females play minimal roles within street and prison gangs. This course was designed to bring awareness to the roles and activities of these females, as this population is many times underestimated and overlooked.  This course will encourage law enforcement to question common misconceptions of females involved in criminal organizations.

 

 

The course curriculum will include the following topics:

  • Historical perception of Females
  • Myths about Female Offenders
  • Females involved in street gangs
  • Prison Gang Involvement and association
  • Difference between Female offenders and facilitators
  • Female roles in Drug Trafficking Organizations
  • Current Gang Trends involving Women in Prison
  • Female offenders in custodial facilities
  • How to deal with Females on probation or parole
  • Interview and Interrogation techniques
  • Resources that are Available to Your Agency

 

 

Course Information: This class is eight hours long, and will run from 0800-1800 hrs on 10/27/2017 at the Watsonville Civic Plaza, 275 Main Street, Watsonville CA 95076 (6th floor). This course is being taught by two female law enforcement experts who are national experts on this topic. Each student will receive a certificate of completion.

POST Information: This course is POST certified (1073-23164-17-001) and STC certified (03615941).

Registration to this course is limited to students who have meet the prerequisites mandated for full-time employment as an official in a law enforcement or administration of justice agency. Verification of current employment in law enforcement is required . There will be no exceptions.
