Seminars - Court Preparation and Expert Testimony

One Day Training Course

The Central Coast Gang Investigator Association is proud to present the following eight hour training course:

“Court Preparation and Expert Testimony ”

This “How To” course will teach how to get the most out of your resume or CV, prepare for gang cases before going to court and parole hearings, how to testify in gang cases, preparing for cross examination, qualifying as an “expert” in gang cases, and more. It will also include mock testimony exercises for the students.

The course curriculum will include the following topics:

 

  • Preparing your Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • How to Prepare for court and What is available to you
  • Testimony Considerations
  • Giving Accurate Testimony and Maintaining your Professionalism

 

Course Information: This class is eight hours long, and will run from 0800-1800 hrs. This course is being taught by Mr. Michael Runyon of the San Diego County District Attorney's Office (Gang Prosecution Unit), Michael Walker of the Watsonville Police Department. Each student will receive a certificate of completion.

POST Information: This course is POST certified (1073-20150-10) and is reimbursable Plan 4

Registration to this course is limited to students who have meet the prerequisites mandated for full-time employment as an official in a law enforcement or administration of justice agency. Verification of current employment in law enforcement is required . There will be no exceptions. CCGIA reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone they deem appropriate as well as all other rights.
