Gang Investigation, Court Preparation and Interviewing Techniques
This “How To” course provides practical instruction on identifying gang indicators and behaviors, properly documenting gang-related information, preparing cases for court, and effectively testifying on gang matters.
The techniques taught in this course apply to prison gangs, street gangs, and outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMGs) and are valuable for Patrol Officers, Investigators, Custody Personnel, Special Agents, and Parole and Probation Officers who routinely encounter gang members.
If your work involves contact with gang members, this course will provide the tools you need to recognize, document, interview, and present gang-related information/evidence effectively.
The course curriculum will include the following topics:

- Prison Gang Identification
- Gang Activity Documentation
- Intelligence Development and Management
- Interview and Interrogation Techniques
- Preparing for Court Testimony
- Expert Witness Testimony Considerations
- Investigative Resources Available to Law Enforcement Agencies
Course Information: This class is nine hours long, and will run from 0800-1800 hrs and is being held at the City of Watsonville City Hall (275 Main St., 4th Floor, Watsonville, CA 95076)
Tuition: This course is $125 per student
POST and STC Information: This course is POST certified (1073-23215-25-001) and is reimbursable Plan 4. This course is STC certified (4413-072000)

Registration to this course is limited to students who have meet the prerequisites mandated for full-time employment as an official in a law enforcement or administration of justice agency. Verification of current employment in law enforcement is required . There will be no exceptions.
